About Top Hand Aussies
The McLeod family first fell in love with the Australian Shepherd in 1991, when oldest daughter Tiffany, then age 1, received an 8-week-old Las Rocosa Aussie, Rocosa River Bend's "Sadie" Mac, as her first pet.  At the age of 8, Tiffany began encouraging us to look into becoming involved in breeding Australian Shepherds, and in 1999, a Twin Oaks male, Blue Bull "Bear" Mac, was brought into the family.  Our first and, sadly, only litter of eight puppies from this pair was born on Thanksgiving Day of 2000; Sadie, much older than Bear, passed away the following May.  Bear was with us until June of 2008, when he had to be put down due to illness.  Pups from their litter went on to be phenomenal working allies and loving companions to their new owners, allowing the legacy of Bear and Sadie to live on, and although the original pair of Top Hand Aussies are no longer with us, our passion for producing working Australian Shepherds within the ASCA Breed Standard remains strong.
Top Hand Aussies is owned and operated out of Novice, Texas, by James "Mac" McLeod and Cindy, his wife of 29 years, along with their two daughters, Tiffany (20) and Lisa (14).  We offer training services for several breeds in addition to Aussies as well as reduced prices on training of dogs purchased at our kennel.
